We want everyone to feel safe, supported and comfortable while they’re at Camp. This guide explains how medical care and security work at our events, and what to expect if something goes wrong, or if staff need to step in.
Camp Wildfire takes place outdoors in a temporary rural setting. While we do everything we reasonably can to make the site safe, there are some natural features, like uneven ground, tree stumps, flint, brambles and branches, that are part of the environment and can’t always be removed.
By coming to Camp Wildfire, you’re agreeing to take sensible care of yourself and the people around you, and to be mindful of the environment you’re in.
Looking after your safety at Camp
We ask everyone attending Camp to:
Follow guidance and instructions from event staff, medical teams and security
Be mindful of the outdoor, rural setting
Only take part in activities you feel fit and comfortable doing
Wear suitable clothing and footwear for the conditions
Let us know if you spot something that feels unsafe
Before joining any activities, you’ll be asked to sign a participant agreement confirming you understand and accept these expectations.
We also recommend taking out personal accident insurance, just for extra peace of mind.
Medical support at Camp
We have a professional medical team on site throughout the event to support you if you’re unwell or injured.
What to expect
The medical team is based at the medical tent in Base Camp
Depending on the situation, you may be asked to make your own way there
If you need help, you can message us on WhatsApp on +1 555 832-9924, or ask a nearby member of staff to contact the medical team by radio
If the medical team think you need hospital treatment
If the medical team feel you need hospital treatment, you’ll need to arrange and cover the cost of your own transport to and from hospital (for example, a taxi). This is standard practice at events of this kind.
We do have an ambulance on site, but this is reserved for critical situations only.
Compassion & support
If you become unwell or injured during the event, please tell us as soon as possible, we’ll always do our best to help you get the support you need while you’re at Camp. Visit the Info Cabin whenever you need to talk or The Retreat if you need a quiet, calm space.
If you have concerns after the event, we’ll always listen, but we’re always best placed to help (and to put things right) when issues are reported while you’re still at the event.
Security at Camp
Our security team is on site to help keep everyone safe and ensure Camp runs smoothly. This includes managing access to the site, carrying out searches on arrival, and stepping in if there’s a risk to people or property.
We know that security checks or interventions can sometimes feel firm. These measures aren’t personal, they’re there to protect everyone and to make sure Camp remains a safe space for all attendees.
Searches on arrival
Bag searches and entry checks are a normal part of attending events like Camp. They help prevent prohibited or unsafe items from entering the site and are carried out for everyone’s safety.
We ask everyone to:
Be respectful to staff and security on arrival
Follow instructions during entry checks
Allow a little extra time, especially at peak arrival periods
During the event
If security need to step in during Camp, it’s usually because:
There’s a safety concern
Someone’s behaviour could put others at risk
Event rules aren’t being followed
We expect all security staff to act professionally and respectfully at all times.
If you ever feel uncomfortable about how a situation has been handled, or have concerns about an interaction with security, please speak to a member of the Wildkind team as soon as possible so we can listen and look into it.
How to report something urgent
If something feels unsafe, or you need urgent support during the event, you can:
Message us on WhatsApp (+1 555 832-9924) (fastest option during event weekends)
Speak to a nearby staff member, Ranger or crew member
Ask someone to contact medical or security by radio
If there’s an immediate risk to life or serious injury, always call 999 first.
A final note
Our medical and security teams are here to support the wellbeing of everyone at Camp. While some decisions, like recommending hospital treatment, carrying out searches, or intervening in a situation, may feel inconvenient in the moment, they’re alwats made with safety in mind.
If you have questions before the event, or concerns during it, our team is always here to help.
