Pace Yourself

Think about what time you’d like to wake up, where your energy levels are naturally high and low, and how exhausting or relaxing you would like your weekend to be. Use that as your starting point for planning your weekend.

There isn’t a right amount of activities to do in a day, some people opt for 1-2, the majority do 3-5 and the most you could have time for is around 6-7.

Alternating between physically demanding and more relaxing activities can give your body time to recover whilst keeping your mind engaged. Some people also choose to have an active day and a relaxed day.

You will want some energy for the Games and Entertainment too; so don’t use it all up on the activities.

Leave Gaps

Activities generally start on the hour or the half hour, and finish 10 minutes before those, so there is just enough time to travel between back-to-back activities if they are nearby, but many are more than 10 minutes travel time away from each other.

If you turn up more than 5 minutes late for an activity you will not be allowed to participate.

It is a good idea to leave a 30-60 minute gap between your activities to ensure you are on time and for the following; eating and drinking, topping up sunscreen or bug spray, resting or napping, toilet trips, longer travel times, changing clothes.

Plan at least 1 hour for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner stops as you will get hungry (if you are buying from the Food Villages you may have to queue at busy times, and if you are cooking remember to factor that in)!

The showers can get busy in the mornings and evenings, so maybe consider having a break for this in the middle of the day.

It is also nice to leave gaps just for fun! Many people find value in just enjoying the beautiful location, wandering up to the drop-in activities, watching other campers do activities, hanging out and chatting to people.

The Patrol Games and Quiz start promptly after the last activity sessions and get busy, so if you want a good spot there, make sure you leave a gap after your last activity to be there early.

Don't miss the Group Photo on Saturday just before the Patrol Games. It's a great Camp tradition and memento of the weekend.

Reduce Travel Time & Energy

The activities take place over a very large area so making sure you plan your activities in a sensible order can help avoid wasting too much time and energy travelling between them.

Plan to spend some time doing activities in one zone, then move onto another that's nearby.

Using Your Credits

Try to spread your credits out across the weekend instead of using them all in one day.

If you plan to use a lot more credits than are included in your ticket, upgrading can work out cheaper than adding lots of extra credits.

The credits reflect how expensive an activity is to run, not necessarily the amount of fun you will have doing it! Some of the best loved activities are low credit or drop-in activities.

Plan some time where you will do the drop-in activities. See which ones will be nearby when you plan to take a break between Enrolled activities and Pencil them into your schedule so you remember.

Activities With Others

If you are attending with others then plan to do some activities together, and some separately. Aligning your schedules to have your free time together and meeting up is a nice way to feel connected throughout the day.

If you are in a large group, for activities you want to do together earmark a few potential times and Enrol in those first whilst sessions have lots of places available.

Don't be afraid to do activities alone, it's the perfect way to meet new people and you're all doing the same thing so it's easy to strike up a conversation.

Enrolling together (either in person, on a video call or in a group chat) can help with cross referencing each other's schedules preferences and making decisions.

Try New Things

Trying new things is the very essence of Camp; ensure you use this amazing opportunity to try new things that you might never do otherwise.

If you don’t recognise the name of an activity, open it up to read the description and find out what it's about as you might uncover a gem!

Pick at least one activity that is out of your comfort zone and that you will find challenging. Something you think would be scary or boring or embarrassing. Camp is very supportive and a great place to break out of your normal selves surrounded by motivating and encouraging people.

Beautiful Mornings

The atmosphere first thing in the morning has a beautiful serenity to it, particularly in Centrecamp and the Intrepid Forest. It’s a lovely time to do a relaxed activity and soak up the vibe.

Hangover Strategies

We’ve heard many strategies for using your first activity to clear a hangover. Some people prefer a high adrenaline activity like Nerf Battles, others a wellness focus like Soundbath, and some just go straight back to partying with Cocktail Mixology!

There is a general consensus that the Waterslide is a good option.

Hit The Spa

It's well worth booking a Spa Session or Wellness Treatment into your weekend to help you rejuvenate your tired body! Make sure you book your passes and Enrol in these early though as they always sell out.

Priority Enrolment

Priority Enrolment opens one week before Standard Enrolment.

Only a small number of people attending have access to priority Enrolment so it is highly unlikely that an activity will become full, however some individual sessions may fill up.

Enrolling at the beginning of the Priority Enrolment period will ensure you have the most choice and availability.

Standard Enrolment

Some activities and sessions will fill up very quickly once Standard Enrolment opens, but there are more than enough activity places for everyone attending to have an incredible weekend.

Preparing

Ensure you've done all the basics like completing your profile, adding group members and assigning or transferring tickets well in advance so you can sort any issues and are ready to go.

Having a rough plan of what activities you might like to do is essential, but plan flexibly with plenty of backup options in mind.

Look through the list of activities and Favourite everything you are interested in; when Enrolment opens you will be able to use the filters to quickly get back to your Favourites.

When you've decided what activities you might like to do, make a note of your order of preference to use when Enrolment opens.

Enrolling

Be ready with your device 5 mins before Enrolment opens. While you can use a mobile phone to enrol, you may find it easier to do on a laptop or a device with a larger screen.

Enrol in activities in order of preference, and have a back up option in mind for each one so that you can swiftly move on if something is full.

Working backwards from the end of the event can give more availability, as most people work chronologically through the weekend.

Come back to it a few days later. Your choices might change after the adrenaline rush of Enrolment opening and availability will have shifted too.

Getting ‘The One’ Activity

Camp is about having a varied weekend discovering lots of new things so we do not endorse the mindset of there being ‘one activity’ that you feel you must get! However, if there’s one activity that you really want to do above anything else, here are a few tips on how to get a place;

  • Make that activity the first thing you Enrol in and build around it.

  • Do not try to Enrol into that activity with other people, it will be much easier to find a session with just 1 place available.

  • The first and last sessions of the day usually fill up slower than the sessions in the middle of the day.

Utilise The Waitlists

If there's an activity or session that you missed out on, join the waitlist! It doesn't use any credits to join and people are always dropping out so there’s a good chance you might get a place.

People are more likely to drop out of activities in the morning when they are tired from the night before, or last thing when they are exhausted from their day!

Making Changes

Enrolment stays open until the event ends, and you make changes to your schedule as many times as you like.

Before Attending

Print out your schedule, or save it as your phone wallpaper so you can easily access it onsite without any signal. Printing is better because you don’t have to worry about carrying your phone or it running out of battery.

Plan what you will need in your daypack each day to be able to participate in your activities without having to go back to your tent too often.

Make It Fun

Enrolment can be as stressful or exciting as you make it!

Don’t panic and don’t be disheartened if you can’t fit everything in or don’t get a particular activity.

There are so many incredible things happening across the weekend; whatever you end up doing you will have a fantastic time.

We guarantee some of the best moments will come from the least expected places.
