Afriquoi

Afriquoi are a five-piece band from the underground scene, bringing an uplifting fusion of African music and live electronics. Their live show blends Gambian kora, Congolese guitar and Mandinka percussion styles with electronic music, to create something entirely unique.

Picture the bright, rippling sound of the kora and the sparkle of Congolese guitar, driven along by Mandinka rhythms. Now layer in electronic music drawing on house, soca, hip-hop, soul and jungle. It shouldn't be possible to fit all of that into one set. And yet here we are.

Expect a proper live show from all five of them. It's joyful, it's uplifting and it's very hard to keep your feet still. Pace yourself. Or don't.
