Deon Barrett

Deon Barrett is an adventurer on a mission to inspire the next generation. He founded the True North Project, which challenges young people to find their true North through the outdoors. It's about teamwork, discipline and finding a community where they feel they belong and can make a real difference.

Deon speaks openly about his own experiences of racism and bullying, and how he set himself tough outdoor challenges to find his happy place. It's an honest story, told in his own words, and it's the spark behind everything the True North Project does.

Expect big adventures, bigger ambitions and a proper dose of motivation. You'll hear why he believes the outdoors can help young people build the skills and confidence to aim for a brighter future. Pull up a seat. You might leave wanting to climb something.
