Liz Ikamba

Liz Ikamba is a Brighton-based artist who makes Congolese-tilted Afro-soul fusion. Using loop pedal, voice, electric guitar and percussion, she builds rich, layered grooves that weave together sounds from across the Diaspora, from soul and reggae to soukous, hip-hop and dub.

Watching a loop pedal set is half the magic. Liz lays down one part at a time, a beat here, a guitar line there, a voice on top, until a full, rich groove is swirling around you.

The result is genre-bending, timeless music that's made to make your heart soar and your body groove. It flows seamlessly from one style to the next, so don't be surprised if you start the song swaying gently and end it dancing like nobody's watching.
