Matthew Ali
MATTHEW ALI
High energy, clever and more than a little sassy. Matthew Ali brings a rugby captain's tenacity to the comedy stage.
Matthew Ali is a rising stand-up comedian who effortlessly combines high energy with clever, sassy humour. A former rugby captain, he has turned his sporting tenacity into a commanding stage presence, and he's quickly made waves on the UK comedy circuit.
Quite a lot, as it happens. Matthew was runner-up at the Komedia New Act of the Year 2024 and a finalist in the Comedy Virgins Max Turner Prize 2023. He came second in the Not So New West End New Comedian of the Year 2023 and put in a strong showing in Dabbers Next Top Bingo Caller 2023, which is exactly as fun as it sounds.
He has also won the knockout event at Backyard Comedy Club and dominated the Ding Dong Gong show in Vauxhall in 2024.
A big presence, quick wit and the kind of sass that keeps a room on its toes. Every set shows off just how sharp he is.
