PHILIP CARR-GOMM (TEA WITH A DRUID)

Pull up a chair for Tea with a Druid. Philip Carr-Gomm has spent most of his life on the Druid path, and he's got plenty to talk about.

Who is Philip Carr-Gomm?

Philip Carr-Gomm is a Druid and teacher who was asked to lead The Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids in 1988. He organised the Order's teachings into a distance-learning course, and the Order has since grown to become the largest Druid teaching order in the world.

How did Philip find Druidry?

Philip met his first spiritual teacher, Ross Nichols, the founder of the Order, when he was 11. He began studying with him as a teenager and was initiated into the Order on Glastonbury Tor at 18. He also edited Nichols' The Book of Druidry with John Matthews.

Professor of History Ronald Hutton has written that the OBOD course 'arguably represents one of the major documents of British spirituality from the late twentieth century'.

What is Tea with a Druid?

Although Philip's spiritual practice is rooted in Druidry, he believes we have entered an era in which we can move beyond attachments to labels. He draws instead on the Perennial Tradition, "being inspired by the wisdom in all spiritual paths and teachings – following the way of the Universal Mystic."

Tea with a Druid is a chance to hear that thinking first-hand. Settle in, bring an open mind and see where the conversation takes you.
