WHAT TO DO IN A PUPPET EMERGENCY + Q&A
A live peek behind the puppets with Blind Summit's Mark Down, plus your chance to ask how inanimate things are made to look so alive.
What to do in a Puppet Emergency is a live puppetry session and Q&A with Mark Down, artistic director and co-founder of award-winning puppetry company Blind Summit. It mixes a glimpse into one of his hilarious shows with an open chat about how puppetry actually works.
Blind Summit have made puppets for the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony and the Met Opera's Madama Butterfly. Their own shows, The Table, Low Life and The Sex Lives of Puppets, have toured around the globe.
First comes a live taste of puppet mischief. Then the floor opens up. Ask how puppetry really works, why it still moves people and what a lifetime of making inanimate things look alive can teach you. No puppet emergency required, but it never hurts to be prepared.
