Nipple Tassels

NIPPLE TASSELS
Sequins, fringe, glitter and a lot of giggling. Make your own nipple tassels and bring a little burlesque sparkle to your weekend.
Nipple tassels are small decorated coverings worn over the nipples, each with a tassel or fringe hanging from the centre. They're also called pasties. Most are made from a stiff base shape covered in sequins, glitter, rhinestones or fabric, and they're worn with skin-safe tape or adhesive. They're a classic of burlesque costume, and a whole lot of cheeky fun.
They're for anyone who fancies a bit of sparkle, whatever your shape or gender. Wear them to a party, under a sheer top, over a vest or just to make your friends laugh.
Tassels are part of the glamour of burlesque, a style of stage show that mixes comedy, costume and tease. Performers became famous for twirling their tassels in time to the music, and the look is now a symbol of confident, playful showmanship. Modern burlesque has brought them right back, and making your own is a fun way to join in, with no stage required.
It starts with the base. You cut a shape from stiff card, felt or craft foam, often a circle folded into a shallow cone so it sits comfortably. Stars, hearts and flowers work too.
Next comes the decorating. Cover the base in sequins, glitter, rhinestones, beads or fabric, usually fixed with a hot glue gun. Then add the star of the show: a tassel or a little fringe of thread, ribbon or feathers in the centre. Let everything dry and cool properly before you try them on.
To wear them, you use skin-safe tape or adhesive made for the body, never craft glue.
Classic round cones with a long silky tassel are the traditional burlesque look. Sequinned stars and hearts are playful and bold. Rhinestone designs catch the light, feathers add drama and pom-poms keep things silly. Mix colours to match an outfit, go full disco ball or keep it simple. Your nipples, your rules.
No problem at all. If you can cut out a shape and stick on a sequin, you can make a pair. Your Activity Leader will show you how to build the base, decorate it and attach the tassel, and there's no pressure to wear them on the spot. It's a giggly, sociable craft that tends to end with a lot of showing off. Glitter encouraged. Twirling optional.
DO I NEED ANY EXPERIENCE?
No. Your Activity Leader shows you how to make them step by step, and all the materials are provided.
IS MAKING NIPPLE TASSELS SAFE?
Scissors can cause small cuts, and hot glue guns can burn fingers. Do not touch the nozzle or fresh hot glue, and put the glue gun back on its stand when you are not using it. Let your tassels cool completely before they touch your skin. Never put hot glue or craft glue directly on your body.
DO I HAVE TO WEAR THEM?
Not at all. Wear them, frame them or keep them for a special occasion. It's completely up to you.
HOW DO NIPPLE TASSELS STAY ON?
They're usually worn with skin-safe tape or adhesive made for the body, applied to clean, dry skin.
