Eddie The Eagle
This man barely needs any introduction, but here goes... Eddie Edwards, better known as Eddie "The Eagle" Edwards, was Great Britain's sole applicant for ski jumping in the 1988 Winter Olympics - the event which cemented his place in British and sporting history.
Eddie first represented Great Britain at the 1987 World Championships and was ranked 55th in the world, qualifying him for the 1988 Winter Olympics.
With lots of hurdles to overcome along the way - extreme longsightedness, lack of financial support, old equipment, and many more - Eddie's story is incredibly unique and inspirational!
It was told to the world most recently in a major 2016 film, with Taron Egerton playing the role of Eddie.
