Dave Haslam

DJ and writer Dave Haslam DJ'd over 450 times at the legendary Hacienda in Manchester during the late 1980s and has since DJ'd worldwide.  He made his debut at the Hacienda on May 1st 1986, with Ian Brown, Tim Burgess and the Chemical Brothers all later crediting his eclectic Thursday night sets as an inspiration.

He's the author of 'Manchester England', a ground-breaking study of Manchester's radical and musical history.  He's subsequently written several more books including a definitive history of British nightclubs and music venues, his memoir 'Sonic Youth Slept on My Floor' (acclaimed by Giles Peterson as 'the best book of 2018'), and short format works about Courtney Love, Sylvia Plath, and Keith Haring.
