Using various styles of metal-work, with hammers and saws, create your own unique piece of copper jewellery. Learn how to texturise and shape the copper into whatever you would like to adorn yourself (or others!) with.

Mask Making

Want to really show off your Patrol dedication? Whether you’re a Badger, Squirrel, Fox or Hawk, our mask making workshops will help you transform yourself into your spirit animal ready for the night’s wild woodland parties. Our crafty leaders will be on hand to help you get creative in personalising your design. (20 people can join at a time).

Marbling

Learn the basics of water marbling, such as how to prepare the water with a thickening agent, choose the colors from natural or synthetic dyes, and manipulate the designs with brushes, combs, or needles. Experiment with different techniques and effects, such as swirls, flowers, or abstract shapes and take home your own unique water marbled artwork.

Macrame

Become a confident macrame maker as we guide you through a fun workshop to learn the techniques of basic knots to make a plant hanger, which you will be able to take away with you.

Letter Press

Learn about traditional print-making techniques and print a personalised Camp Wildfire notebook and a string of handprinted Camp Wildfire bunting to decorate your tent.

Landscape Painting

Channel your inner Bob Ross, in this creative watercolour class. Our charismatic leader will teach you how to think outside the box, and put your own personality and imagination into creating a landscape scene.

Kite Building

Why do kites fly and how can we make them fly even better? By learning about the forces which create flight and how to use the right materials. By the end of this session you will all know why a kite needs a Bridle Point, Cross Spar and Tail, and you will learn how to find its centre of gravity. Put all this learning together into making a great kite design of your own to fly in the fields.

Jiu Jitsu

This class will be focused on teaching both the techniques of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a few useful aerobic exercises in order to optimize your performance in the sport. This is not only ideal for learning self defense and having fun, but also a good confidence builder for all aspects of your life.

Ice Bathing

Curious about how Wim Hof does it? Our expert practitioner will give you a short intro to breath and ice, before starting a 30 minute breath class. This will get you into a deep state of relaxation to prepare you for the ice. You will then be submreged in the ice bath, at a pace and length of time that suitable for you. After this you will do some short exercises to warm the body, whilst you ride that dopamine high.

Hapa-Zome

Explore the art of hapa zome — the ancient Japanese art form, based on leaf printing (with hammers!) — in a beautiful woodland setting and connect deeply with nature and the abundance of natural materials around you. In this two-part session you’ll learn about foraging and printing, leaving with an artwork that can also be used practically in your everyday fashion garb.

Forensic Investigation

A nasty crime has happened – a support worker on site has been attacked. Can you work as a crime scene investigator to examine the crime scene and carry out some forensic investigation? And if evidence is found, you can play a part in a courtroom trial.

Flying Trapeze

Test your nerve by learning the death defying skills of the flying trapeze! This classic circus art is all about taking a risk, being in the moment and acting on instinct. Not one for the faint of heart – you’ll need to be able to squash any fear of heights in order to fly high above the Wildkind Forest!

Flower Headdress

Learn how to arrange a natural headdress. All materials are provided in your own personal little kit but you are welcome to forage for any materials (flowers, pine cones, leaves, twigs etc) beforehand that you can’t live without in your headdress!

We will take you back in time on a journey to your primitive origins, on a quest to re-discover our ancient connection to fire.

Film-making & Editing

Select your movie-crew and choose a film style from one of 4 directors; Wes Anderson, The Cohen Bros, Jane Campion and Ridley Scott as our teachers guide you through two fast-paced introductions to camera and sound and script and directing. You’ll need to pull together your script, set, costumes and props before returning to the editing suite to learn how to finesse your final film ready for screening.

Eskrima

Also known as Filipino Stick Fighting. Unleash your inner Nightwing (or Daredevil, if that’s more your comic style). We will show you how to attack and defend with two sticks at once in a dizzying combat pattern before you swiftly disarm your opponent. Anyone feeling brave will get to test their skills against one of our armoured-up instructors!

Escape & Evade

Escape the everyday and become the hunted in a game of hide and seek like no other. This is not your childhood game. This is hide and seek for adults. When you’re deep in the woods, there are endless possibilities for places to hide. You could scale a tree, slip behind a bush, or find a cosy nook to curl up in. And when you’re finally found, the rush of excitement is unbeatable.

Dodgeball

“If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball”. A full octane activity to get the blood pumping. Join us for an action-packed battle to the death*, where the last person standing wins the right to call themselves a Wildfire dodgeball champ!

*no actual death will occur.

Cyanotypes

An historic photographic process, where two chemicals are mixed together to make an emulation that turns Prussian blue in contact with sun light. Participants will coat their own papers and scraps of card before choosing botanicals and objects. Once the paper is dry, then will place their chosen objects on the coated paper, put it in the sun and watch the colour change. Finally, the print is rinsed in water to fix it.

Ready, aim fire! Use skill and precision to beat your opponents in this crossbow target challenge as you learn to shoot a weapon that was outlawed across Europe.

Comedy Skills

A broad overview of improv, stand-up and “Clown”. The umbrella quest is to ask yourself ‘Which type of comic are you?’ The energy of the group and each individual participant type will be taken into consideration. Come and make some new friends while you enjoy lots of laughs as a team.

Cocktail Mixology

Learn to make, shake and muddle cocktails with our leading cocktail bartenders. Ever wanted to create cocktails at home to enjoy, or simple to impress your friends? We will guide you through the basics and key tricks of the trade to make fantastic cocktails. For those of you who don’t drink alcohol, our menu has been created so you can make virgin versions of the same cocktails.

Climbing Wall

Test your bravery and challenge vertigo by tackling our 4 climbing walls of varying heights and difficulties. Don’t forget to take in the view at the top!
30ft high with 4 climbing stations. All are of different degrees of difficulty. We also do a blindfold challenge and speed challenge.

Capture the Flag

The epic childhood game returns! Compete in teams to capture your opponent’s flag and return it to your base, all while protecting your own flag, a game of speed, strategy, daring and above all, plenty of fun – the classic game with a few distinctly Wildfire twists!

Capoeira

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazlian martial art with elements of other disciplines such as gymnastics, breakdance, yoga and Kung Fu. Learn the principles of whirling kicks, handstands and Capoeira sequences where you be taught several kicks and attempt acrobatic movements such as handstands and cartwheels. You will also learn the basis of playing a Capoeira game and experience a Capoeira roda (circle) with live music.

Bug Hotel Building

It’s a bugs life! Discover the importance of bug habitats and create your own bug hotels using natural and recycled materials

Bread Baking

Does it get much better than cooking in the great outdoors? Using an open fire, this simple yet effective way to bake results in bread that can be enjoyed on its own, dipped in something sweet, or perhaps you prefer savoury.

Botanical Walk

Follow our nature leader on a gentle stroll looking at the local flora and hopefully some fauna. We will use a mindful approach to learn a few ways of differentiating between plants.

Blacksmithing

Learn basic blacksmithing techniques, including heating and hammering metal, and creating shapes and designs. Depending on your natural level of skill, you may be able to create items such as hooks, nails, bottle openers, bangles, pendants, or even more complex items like knives or decorative objects to take home!
