Updating

We are currently updating our sustainability policies; setting some ambitious targets to become
the worlds most sustainable & environmentally friendly festival.

Eradicate Single Use Plastic

We operate reusable cup scheme at our bars.  There will be a £1 non-refundable charge on your first cup.  Return that cup when making your next order and that £1 will not be charged for your new cup.  Please return any extra or found cups to the bar so that they can be washed and reused - do not put these in any bins.

No single use plastic cups, drinks bottles or straws will be available at any bar.

Water refill stations will be available throughout the site.

Food Traders

No single-use sachets of sugar, sauces, salt, pepper or cartons of milk will be available.

All serve-ware, including cutlery, straws and hot drinks lids must be fully compostable.

All meat, dairy and eggs must be free range and organic

Only non-toxic, biodegradable cleaning products may be used.

All surplus food left over after the event will be taken to a community surplus food cafe- for 'pay as you can' meals

Bars

All tea, coffee, drinking chocolate and other drinks must be fair trade and sugar must be either fair trade or British.

Alcoholic drinks will sourced as locally as possible and we will aim to work with many local and small-scale brewers and distillers.

We will aim to provide organic and vegan beverage options.

Leave No Trace

Encourage all guests to use recycling bins provided - it is not acceptable to drop any rubbish onto the ground.

Ensure guests take all tents and equipment home, leaving nothing behind. In 2019, we can proudly say that not a single tent was left behind.

Our ultimate aim is to achieve zero landfill and we are taking steps towards this goal.

Glitter is not permitted - even biodegradable, as there is not much evidence this is any better.

Dispose of cigarette butts in the portable ashtrays provided.  Do not drop or throw any butts.

Travel

All guests, artists, suppliers and crew should travel to the festival via public transport where possible.

We will offer incentives for cyclists.

Energy

Increase our use of renewable energy sources where possible.

Reduce the number of diesel generators used on site and increase the operational efficiency of those that cannot be avoided.

Move to energy efficient equipment and low-energy LED lighting where possible.

Water

Ensure water is used responsibly and all taps are turned off after use.

Limit time spent in showers in order to conserve water.

Promote water efficiency.
